Columbia’s Ina-Yoko Teutenberg took a strong solo win in the last stage of the Holland Ladies Tour  - a victory which secured her second place overall and first place in the points competition.

On a tough, hilly stage in south Holland, aggressive team-work by Columbia culminated when Teutenberg moved clear of the field.

Team Columbia stayed in full control on the final day of racing in the Tour of Germany, taking both the top two places on the stage and on the overall classification.

After moving into the lead with a victory on stage one, Linus Gerdemann triumphed overall, with team-mate Thomas Lovkvist in second and the winner of the Best Young Rider competition.

The final stage, a 34 kilometre time trial in Bremen, was completely dominated by Columbia.

Tough weather conditions could not prevent Ina-Yoko Teutenberg from sprinting to victory in stage four of the Ladies Tour of Holland.

At the end of the 85 kilometre stage from Dedemsvaart to Hardenberg, Teutenberg scorched to her second win - and Columbia’s third -  in four days.

Columbia’s Anke Wichmann clinched her first win of the season  when she out-sprinted fellow German Sarah Düster at the end of stage three of the Holland Ladies Tour.

The two were part of a earlier six-rider break, but Wichmann and Duster used a cobbled section eight kilometres from the finish at Roden to go clear and fight it out for the day’s victory.

Team Columbia’s outstanding all-round performance in the 2008 Tour of Germany continued a pace on Wednesday as Gerald Ciolek romped home for a superb uphill sprint stage win.

Columbia’s third victory at the Tour of Germany in five days came after Ciolek successfully fended off Swiss rider Rubens Bertogliati and Italian Leonardo Bertagnolli at the summit finish on the third category Winterberg climb. Heavy rainfall made a tough 218 kilometre stage through hilly terain even tougher, but Ciolek stayed ahead of the pack for the fifth stage win of his career in the Tour of Germany.

Stage four of the Tour of Germany on Tuesday saw Columbia fastman André Greipel outgun Australian Robbie McEwen and German Robert Forster for his twelfth victory of the season.

A bunch sprint on the stage from Wiesloch to Mainz only became a certainty with six kilometres to go when Frenchman Thomas Voeckler was reeled in - but Greipel was ready to pounce.

Ina-Yoko Teutenberg has scorched to a classy sprint victory in the opening stage of the Holland Ladies Tour in Hellendorn.

"She won it comfortably, by a good three bikes lengths. It was very impressive." Sports director Ronny Lauke said afterwards.

"It was a fairly tough finish, too, a little bit uphill in the last kilometer, a few concerns and with some covvled sections on the run-in."

Third place for Columbia’s Thomas Lovkvist on stage three of the Tour of Germany has earned the Swedish rider the provisional lead in two classifications - the Points and the Best Young Rider’s competitions. Following the 214.9 kilometre stage from Herrieden to Wiesloch, Lovkvist also remains in second place overall behind team-mate Linus Gerdemann, just 17 seconds behind.

This isn’t the easiest Tour of Germany route-wise, with  a lot of climbing early on, but Thomas is showing he’s got what it takes both for the mountain stages and even the small group sprints.” pointed out team manager Rolf Aldag. He did a brillaint ride on that first day on the summit finish at Hochfugen, Linus charged away [for the stage win and overall lead] and Thomas kept hanging on and hanging on behind.

Pinotti wins Tour of Ireland and Rabon takes the final stage

Columbia's Marco Pinotti outgunned the opposition for a hard-fought  overall win in the Tour of Ireland on Sunday, whilst team-mate Frantisek Rabon provided the icing on the cake with a victory on the final stage.

In a dramatic last day's racing from Killarney to Cork, culminating in four laps of a 15 kilometre circuit including the ultra-hard Saint Patrick's Hill, Rabon formed part of an early break whilst Pinotti went for the overall from a chasing group.
After wearing down the other riders in the break, Rabon moved clear with three kilometres to go for a solo win, whilst Pinotti attacked from a nine-man group behind to take the overall.

Team Columbia's Linus Gerdemann and Thomas Lovkvist soared to the top two places in  both stage one and the provisional overall of the Tour of Germany  on Sunday.

Featuring one second category and two first category climbs, the 178 kilometre stage between Kitzbuhel and Hochfugen was rated the toughest of the Tour of Germany.

Gerdemann crossed the line 16 seconds ahead of team-mate Lovkvist after attacking at the foot of the final 13 kilometre climb to Hochfugen in Austria.
