THOMAS LOVKVIST (26)

Gotland, Sweden

Everybody has been talking about this young talent for three to four years. He is an extremely motivated and dedicated athlete and is hard to slow down. In the off season it is not unusual for him to spend six hours riding his mountain bike in the snow. He is a former Swedish Time Trial and in 2006 he won the Swedish National Road Race.

2008 was an excellent year for Thomas with the highlight at the Tour de France where he held the "Best Young Rider" Jersey for four days.

In the Deutschland Tour he placed second overall and won the Best Young Rider and the Points Classification.

2009 Victories

  • Holder of Maglia Rosa at the Giro d'Italia 2009
  • Winner of Monte Paschi Eroica
  • Best Young Rider Classification at Tirreno Adriatico

For me being sure that I come to a doping free environment is very important. Team High Road seems to have a very good structure and an ambition to do the maximum to get results.

I love riding my bike because I'm my own boss and I'm able to see how far and good I can be at my job. Also the freedom working outdoor is great.
