BOB STAPLETON
Owner
Bob is an American entrepreneur and a pioneer of the wireless industry. Since entering the cellular industry at Pacific Telesis in 1984, he has served in various positions with General Cellular, Corp, including Chief Operating Officer and VP of Operations. Bob was one of five founders and served as President of Western Wireless Corp. which later became Voicestream Wireless Corp. As Chief Operating Officer, Bob was responsible for all operations of Voicestream Wireless Corp. In 2002, Bob moved to San Luis Obispo where he founded High Road Sports, Inc. in 2004. Bob holds a Bachelor of Science and MBA from the University of California.
BRUCE CARMEDELLE
Chief Financial Officer
Bruce joined High Road Sports in 2006 and has brought his extensive experience in management and operations to his role as C.F.O.. He works with the staff, partners and suppliers to ensure the smooth operation of the team, enabling the riders and sport directors to focus on racing. Bruce has a B.S. in Accounting from the University of New Orleans and became a C.P.A. while working for Price Waterhouse in Denver, Colorado. Since then, He has served as a C.F.O. for both public and private technology companies in San Francisco and Silicon Valley. Bruce splits his time between the Team’s Service Course in Belgium and California.
HELGE RIEPENHOF, M.D.
Head Team Doctor
Helge Riepenhof, M.D. Head Team Doctor – Germany – After studying in Osnabruck, and Munich, including a special project with Harvard Medical School Dr. Helge Riepenhof joined HTC - Highroad in 2007. As Head Team Doctor, Dr. Riepenhof coordinates a team of leading orthopedic surgeons from BG Sportpartner, a hospital in Hamburg Germany which specializes in trauma surgery, orthopedics sports and rehabilitative medicine, and one of the leading hospitals for sportstraumatology. Dr. Riepenhof and his team specialize in sport-related injuries and recovery methods to bring the latest techniques to our athletes.
SEBASTIAN WEBER
Team Trainer
HTC - Highroad team trainer Sebastian Weber makes it his business to study every last detail of our riders' performance. Our riders train an average of 4 hours each day, amounting to 24,000 pedal strokes per day,and more than 8 million strokes each year. Weber provides HTC - Highroad athletes with specific, individualized training plans, monitoring SRM and VO2 max testing data, integrating that data into future plans for each rider.They study the demands and nuances of a course, and by helping with pacing strategies they can prepare our athletes to perform at their best.
LARS TEUTENBERG
TechDev Manager
Lars has been instrumental in the development of some the most advanced equipment in competition today, including the 2008 Giant and the 2009 Scott Plasma. A former professional road racer and track rider himself, Lars is nicknamed “The Professor” for his obsession with technical detail and perpetual improvement. Lars works in tandem with our partners and athletes, utilizing advanced wind tunnel and other testing methods to develop the most aerodynamic and technologically advanced equipment and practices in professional cycling today.
KRISTY SCRYMGEOUR
Marketing & Communications
Kristy holds a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Science from Sydney University, and taught professionally for two years in her hometown of Sydney. She spent four years as a trade journalist before joining High Road Sports in 2007 to manage the women’s team. Today Kristy manages the daily media relations demands of both the men’s and women’s teams. A former professional cyclist herself, Kristy is a two-time Australian national champion, and spent most of her career working as a domestique. Having raced for eight years on teams such as Team Saturn and the Australian National Team Kristy brings 13 years of professional cycling experience to HTC - Highroad.
